Laberinto
For the inaugural edition of ZOOM CDMX, Laberinto unfolds as a collective exploration of disorientation, encounter, and multiple pathways. Bringing together 17 artists from Mexico, Chile, and Costa Rica—selected through an open call—the exhibition transforms the space into a network of sensorial and symbolic traces.
The works presented— ranging from painting and photography to olfactory installations and site-specific interventions— are conceived not as isolated objects, but as fragments of a larger journey. At its core lies the thread of Ariadne, fragmented and reconfigured, appearing throughout the exhibition as a visual and textual guide. Visitors are invited to follow, resist, or lose this thread, constructing their own itinerary through the works, and engaging with the labyrinth as both a physical space and a metaphor for artistic and personal search.
Here, the labyrinth becomes an open system, where meaning is provisional and orientation is subjective. The act of wandering —seeing, reading, smelling, touching— becomes an essential part of the work itself, positioning the audience as active participants in the weaving of connections and the unraveling of possible narratives.
