Reino Plantae
In one of the apartments of Mártires de la Conquista, this immersive installation unfolds as a space for touch and listening. An irrigation system sustains a delicate ecosystem of ferns and moss, whose irregular surfaces invite visitors to walk barefoot, feeling the textures of a living landscape, while the subtle sounds of photosynthesis resonate in the air.
Here, the invisible becomes present. In the midst of a megacity, this work reveals the quiet persistence of life forms that have inhabited the earth for millions of years, adapting with patience and grace. Light, humidity, and the slow rhythm of growth compose an unhurried choreography, reminding us of the intricate processes that sustain the vegetal world.
Reino Plantae invites us to pause—to step out of the pace of the city and into another temporality—where the act of perceiving becomes a form of recognition, and where each footstep is part of a shared alliance with the green presences that inhabit our days, often without us noticing.
